The Queen Mary:  Rating - Orange

What an eventful evening!  Our investigation was scheduled to begin at 10:30p.m., but due to several security guards being sent home early, we were delayed until close to 11:30.  Earlier in the day we had visited MTV Studios and talked with the production team of MTVs Pimp My Ride.  We invited the team, including Ryan Smith and John Piermarini, to accompany us, which they gladly accepted!

At 11:30, our adventure began.  The Queen Mary staff had reserved several of the more haunted areas of the ship for our investigation, including B-340, a statesroom that is no longer rented out to customers due to its high volume of activity, the original swimming pool and locker room area, and the medical isolation ward.  We split into two teams, each accompanied by one of the ship's security staff.

There wasn't a lot of excitement early on; both groups met up in the swimming pool area around midnight.  Our guides showed us the locker room, where there is supposed to be a vortex that has been sighted on multiple occasions.  One of our guards, Jimmy Lee, told us that, according to legend, if you stand in the various stalls, you can feel the ship crashing against the waves and occasionally feel people in the stalls with you.  Jimmy said he didn't really believe in ghosts; he was just relaying what he'd been told.  We went lights out and all stood in various stalls, and the excitement began.  Jimmy stood paralized in his stall for several minutes, freezing cold, sweating, and breaking out in chills all at once.  He said he felt something was with him and that it was "tripping him out."  We had a good time with it, because from then on, he was more excited to conitnue than even we were.  While in the stalls, a presence began to toy with Lori.  It would play with her hair, and menacingly stand over her, causing the E.M.F. meter to light up.  Ryan and John both felt a hot spot in the area of the E.M.F., and when the meter stopped, the hot spot disappeared.

From the locker room, we decended way down into the depths of the ship.  We explored the boiler room and other areas of paranormal occurrances, including the Green Room, where a grizzly murder supposedly took place.  While in that area, Lori continued to be tormented by several different spirits, which continued to overwhelm her through much of the bowels of the ship.  While most of the team was exploring deep within, a few of the more claustrophobic members remained in the pool area.  Katherine and two of Ted and Lori's children remained with the Riccardo, the other guard while Jimmy was leading the others below.  While being left alone, the pool area became an epicenter of paranormal activity.  Sydney, Ted and Lori's youngest, came in contact with the spirit of a little girl, explaining her just the way Riccardo had heard her described many times.  Katherine and Kayla saw a spirit standing off to their right, which quickly disappeared as they turned to look at it.  Several doors opened and closed by themselves, while no one else was present in the area.  Everyone present heard what sounded like an elevator ding, which was followed by the door above the pool area opening.

We had a wonderful time at the Queen Mary and look forward to investigating it again soon.  We have been offered a return visit for when we are next in the area, which we are hoping to be sooner than later.
